Human Environmental Association for Development at the 27th Conference of the Parties at ESCWA Beirut

Holding the 27th Conference of the Parties: The Arab Regional Forum on Climate Initiatives to Finance Climate Action and the Sustainable Development Goals.

It is impossible to ignore the impact of climate change and we cannot undo the mistakes of the past. But this generation of political and business leaders, this generation of conscious citizens, can make things right. This generation can make the systemic changes that will stop the warming of the planet, help everyone adapt to new conditions and create a peaceful world,
 The Arab Regional Forum on Climate Initiatives for Financing Climate Action and the Sustainable Development Goals is one of five regional forums organized by the Egyptian Presidency of COP 27 with the United Nations High-Level Pioneers on Climate Change and the five United Nations Regional Committees, in the context of preparations for COP 27.

The Arab Regional Forum addressed the needs of Arab countries for financing climate action in order to ensure water, energy and food security under changing climatic conditions.
During it, member states presented bankable projects that would accelerate climate action, as well as innovative forms of financing and regional initiatives that could open opportunities for private sector investment, blended finance and bilateral support.
The forum focused on the following:

Facilitate interaction with a wide range of partners and stakeholders to accelerate the mobilization of public and private investments and provide opportunities for blended financing of concrete projects and initiatives;
Identifying aspects of cooperation and opportunities in the field of climate finance to accelerate access to clean energy and energy efficiency technologies and ways to ensure water and food security, which are key motivators for achieving sustainable development goals and the goals of mitigating and adapting to climate change in the Arab region;
Link institutional investors, private financiers and development partners to governments and facilitate dialogue on engagement in providing investment opportunities that support priority actions in the region.
